Finding a pet that was hungry and full of poop saw rescuers so relieved

Detroit Pit Crew Canine Rescue receives frequent calls about dogs in need, but this pet needs help ASAP if it is to survive. After receiving the emergency call, the animal rescue team immediately went to the Detroit 6 area for help and rescued the pet.

What they found was surprising - a critter covered in poop sitting in a piece of electrical wire that had been thrown outside. Detroit Pit Crew Canine Rescue wrote on Facebook: "We received an emergency call tonight about an outdoor pet in a lined box full of feces. Colleagues from the Department's Sixth Ward called for help and within minutes they understood the situation and secured the pet for us.

Apparently, when "Bessie" was lifted from the crate, the poor pet was starving and severely malnourished. Officers gently hugged the pet, wrapped him in a warm blanket, and handed him over to the Detroit maintenance crew, who transported him to an emergency veterinary hospital for treatment.

The Detroit Pit Crew is grateful for "the heroes of DPD who went above and beyond for the children." Upon arriving at the hospital, the Detroit Pit Crew shared information on Bessie's condition the next day, revealing that she was in terrible condition.

"She is in very bad shape as she is only 6 months old and weighs 14 lbs," the rescuers wrote. "We took her to an emergency veterinary hospital last night where she was tested as unlikely to have parvovirus , a biopsy revealed she was dehydrated from a high white blood cell count. "

Apparently, despite the horrific ordeal, Bessie even feels better after a night of breastfeeding. In one of the many photos taken at the hospital, she appears alert and hopeful. Soon, Bessie's health will be monitored and she will continue to receive treatment together. The Detroit Pit Crew wrote: "We are very pleased to report that Bessie's overall situation is improving and she is on her way to a new and better life.
