Rescuers comfort him in his final moments after he was surrendered because he is too old

An elderly dog used his family to surrender because he was 'too old' as rescuers pulled him from a California animal shelter. On Tuesday, Leave No Paws posted two photos of the 14-year-old dog and wrote a letter to those who are currently choosing not to be with him for the rest of the time.
Rescue Enterprise wrote:

How to care: We lovingly hold biscuits for your dog as you cross the Rainbow Bridge today. We met Cookie on Sunday and we went to the hideout to rescue some other little old people who asked if we should support the 14 year old historical puppy who once surrendered to his owner just because he "got old". They also told us that you told them he "had occasional seizures" as he got older. Now I try not to be judged, now I don't understand what brought Cookie to the shelter, I just understand that he once really took his own life, his nails were full, he used to be as thin as a toothpick and of course he used to be very ill

The poignant advice continued: "I can't think of what you thought when you surrendered to his death, after all these years with you, alone, in the safe harbor of a hidden floor without blood. However, what strikes my heart the most is The broken thing is that what he once wanted to know as he watched you go away and was led into a cold, noisy, dark cage with the strangers I'm sure these people were trying to assuage his little fears , well, now it's not about you or your feelings anymore, it's about a 14 year old candy boy who used to die alone when I wanted you most.
